Lisbon, Portugal

View of the incline and Bica tram.

Walking the streets of Lisbon resembles a usual stroll in San Francisco, California. Lots of hills to get your heart racing while enjoying the colorful bright buildings. Be sure to pack some comfortable footwear if you plan to do some exploring on foot. I was fortunate enough to have the perfect walking weather during my trip. I went in February and it was around 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rua Nova do Carvalho

Rua Nova do Carvalho

Lisbon's trendiest nightlife area! By day you can enjoy a nice cocktail while taking in "Pink Street" beauty. This area is a former popular red-light district. Stop by Pensao Amor for a drink or two coupled with wild indoor wall art. I live for priceless moments like this.

Take the number 28 yellow tram to the Bairro Alto neighborhood for a stroll on the cobbled streets by day (lots of graffiti) and an interesting nightlife by night.

When visiting new cities, I usually prefer exploring on foot. But after a walking up and down a few hills, I felt like my energy level was diminishing after conquering every hill. I flagged down the first tuk-tuk driver I spotted and asked for a short tour around Lisbon.

Carmo Convent

Carmo Convent

The ancient buildings of Lisbon provide such beautiful architecture. This second oldest city in Europe reminded me a little bit of my visit to Prague.

My favorite part about visiting Lisbon. Overlooking the Carmo Convent from my room.

I will never forget spending mornings in my little balcony and watching the sun come up.. There was a restaurant downstairs that had musicians performing in the evening as well.

Be sure to bring your plug adaptor for charging your electronics. I ordered mine from Amazon and it had multiple USB ports so I was able to charge more than one electronic at once.

Even though Portuguese is the official language and I don't speak any Portuguese, I was able to communicate with almost everyone I encountered in Lisbon.

I would love to visit Lisbon again in the future, feel free to share some of your favorite Lisbon moments in the comments section below as well.
