Singapore

Gardens By The Bay.

I always lean more towards choosing destinations with warmer weather. But what I fail to consider is the amount of humidity in the warmer destinations that I end up choosing. Singapore’s weather is warm all year round. I visited in November and the humidity level was almost unbearable for me. Plan accordingly when packing your clothes. Besides the heat and humidity combination, everything else about this beautiful Asian country was vividly memorable.

Little India Neighborhood.

Singapore is hands down my favorite Asian destination by far. It is so green, and I love their commitment to sustainability and clean environment.

Even though I traveled solo to Singapore, I made sure to capture as many pictures as possible. And not just selfies! I mean how else can one make everlasting memories and be able to look back at all the fun?

Sentosa Island

My local photographer Brian did a wonderful job capturing some of my favorite experiences in Singapore. It is always helpful to be in the company of a local who can help direct you to the best food location and hidden gems.

Gardens by The Bay, a must-see attraction in Singapore. Gave me the vibe of a futuristic garden type of set up. Entrance is free but there is a cover charge for the two enclosed gardens. Be sure to also come back at night for the light show.

Singapore is not well known for beaches, but Sentosa Island is a nice place to visit and enjoy some quiet time. Plan for activities around the island by making an online reservation in advance if you are a thrill seeker.

Sentosa Island.

You will see giant ships in the distance because Singapore has one of the busiest ports in Asia. But do not get discouraged, the water is clear enough and the beach is well maintained.

Plenty of temples, churches, and mosques to see. The entry to these places of worship are free of charge.

Clarke Quay! This neighborhood truly comes alive at night. Live music can be heard from every direction. I tried frog legs for the first time ever at this restaurant overlooking the water.

In summary, Singapore is probably one of the cleanest places I've ever visited. Chewing gum is illegal and cleanliness is public places is taken very seriously.

Have you been to Singapore? If so, what was the best part of your visit? And if you haven’t yet, what is the number one area/site on your list?
