Prague, Czech Republic

Prague is such a European hidden gem!

My ticket to Czech Republic was a spontaneous purchase. I received an email one evening from Scott's Cheap Flights about a flight deal to Prague. The cost was $400 for a round trip ticket with a layover in Helsinki, Finland.

I have never been to Europe as a tourist before, so this was an amazing opportunity to get a firsthand experience. The deal was through FinnAir with a couple of hours layover in Helsinki, Finland.

I stayed in a hotel in the Mala Strana area, and

it was nicely located near the attractions that were high on my to do list. To get to The Prague Castle for instance is a 16-minutes walk. I have learned from previous travels that staying a hotel with proximity of most attractions suits my travel style best.

Entry to the Castle grounds itself is free. It is very safe, and everyone goes through a quick screening process by security officers prior to entry to the castle. Walking tours are also available to those who want an in-depth history of the castle.

The captivating and charming St Vitus Cathedral cannot be miss when you visit Prague Castle. So much detail to take in. From stained glass windows to jaw dropping gothic architecture. It is an absolutely a must-see sight.

Charles Bridge was only a 7-minute walk from my hotel. That is without stopping for multiple pictures and Snapchat videos. The bridge is very touristy. But it is one of those places you must visit before leaving Prague. Beautiful statues, lots of vendors selling souvenirs and jewelry.

Lennon Wall.

Legalized graffiti is the best way I can describe the Lennon Wall. You can read messages of peace and love fill most of the wall. It was to promote peaceful protest during communist period. The art in this wall is constantly changed by other graffiti artist.

Be sure to enjoy some warm and freshly made Trdelnik. You can watch it being made at many concessions stands and bakeries. I enjoyed mine with a cup of hot tea.
